For many years SADD has been present in Louisiana. LA SADD has been known for its leadership opportunities for teens, conferences, and quality programs. In 2009, the organization hosting LA SADD closed, but chapters across Louisiana continued their prevention work. In 2013, a community-based nonprofit was started in Livingston Parish from the success of a local SADD chapter at Denham Springs High School. Louisiana Youth Advisors, doing business at Livingston Parish SADD, became partners with the national office and the local nonprofit was designated the state contact for Louisiana. In 2015, SADD National and Louisiana Youth Advisors entered into an affiliation agreement, declaring Dylan Ivy the State Coordinator and Louisiana Youth Advisors the affiliate agency for Louisiana SADD.
